Man, it looks like the Adventure Time Monopoly game just came out. Back in the summer I drew these designs for the game pieces, mostly for fun. I had no idea if any of them would get used but it looks like they used five of them! Feels neat.

How do I get them to make a Adventure Time licensed version of the Mage Knight board game.

I’m preeeeetty proud of this one and I’m excited for everyone to watch it. There’s some fun stuff in here!

Right now I’m just finishing up storyboarding our last episode for season five! There’s a lot of surprising stuff coming up on the show and it’s been cool partnering with Tom Herpich (who, by the way, is on tumblr now! Here! Unfortunately he’s not on twitter, but I am. Here.). Puhoy.

I don’t know if people are interested but I thought I’d post the initial designs I did for Jake the Dad and All Your Fault.

One of my favorite part of storyboarding is doing these rough character designs. I spend longer on them than I should but I really really love doing this stuff!

I really love the way all of these turned out in the show, I always love seeing how different everything gets between the storyboarding and the finished product. The lemon mutants changed so much!

New episode of Adventure Time on Monday: “All Your Fault”! Like “Goliad” from last season, this is one where I came up with the premise myself, then brought it to the writers to bounce it around and plus it up. “Goliad” changed a lot in the writers room I remember, but this one was pretty much fully formed from the get go.

At any rate- I co-wrote and co-boarded it with the amazing Steve Wolfhard, who I’ve been working with since the end of season 4. I think we’ve been making some really solid stuff, and it’s torture waiting for it all to hit the airwaves! Hope y’all dig it.

Today is the 1 year anniversary of me and Leslie getting married! Here’s a re-posting of the wedding announcement comic that I did last year.

I think a lot about our wedding! We had only been engaged for two weeks so it was a very small city hall ceremony, attended by Leslie’s parents, my parents, and a handful of friends. We’re still so touched to have Annie Koyama and John Martz as our witnesses. Afterwards my dad took everyone out for lunch at our favourite Toronto restaurant.

The whole thing was the simplest, but from the day of the wedding through january was the happiest time of my life. Les and I were so happy during that time that it was nearly impossible to do anything other than squeeze each other, laugh, and cry. We were so happy it was impractical.

Marrying Leslie has to be the biggest and most surprising thing that’s ever happened in my life. Before we met I was hunkering down and getting ready for a lifetime by myself. I didn’t have much ambition, I felt a lot of shame, and didn’t have much hope for my future. Leslie totally scooped me up and saved me.

I love her so much. All I want is for us to get old and cozy together.

Today at Challengers… we got our restock of Steve Wolfhard’s “Turtie Needs Work”. The first batch we had sold out within a day, so we picked up a couple dozen more from Koyama Press. They’re $3 and they’re hilarious. Thank you, comics!
